Last Thursday the senior cadets went on an afloat day which was the first due to Covid 19 restrictions. The day was based at the Waterside Lodge in Southport and the cadets were able to try out the KataKanus as well as pairing off for a time in small sail craft after dinner. The cadets did extremely well and only two of them ended up in the water after falling in from the dock. The Cadets ability to take on new challenges with determination and not one of them refusing to try was excellent to see. Made all the more impressive is the fact that we took in their phones at the start of the day and none of them asked for them back until we got back to the academy.
Also a special thank you to Chief Petty Officer Urie from the Royal Navy for hosting us and also to our own Chief Waland for getting us there and back safely.
Well done Cadets, you did us proud.
