On Wednesday, 3rd March our Y7 and Y8 cohort took part in an author session with Tom Palmer, best known for his books: After the War and Football Academy. Tom spent the session discussing some of his better-known books and explaining his inspiration behind some of his newer books. The students had the chance to ask an assortment of questions about Tom’s books and writing in general. This was a great opportunity and enjoyable for all taking part.
If students would like to ask Tom Palmer anything else please email Miss Jukes and she will speak to Tom.
Below is a statement from one of our Y8 students, Baillee Phipps about the session:
Tom Palmer is best known as an author. His books are bestselling texts, they make you feel like you can be yourself, they talk about history and what has happened in the past. He describes his past through books like Armistice Runner – it is inspired by his daughter who likes running. He has written a series of football books; a book about Concentration camps (written about the Holocaust) called After the War. In my opinion, it is a fabulous book with its facts that are based around what happened in World War 2. I think Tom Palmer is a fabulous author.
