Huge congratulations to our Year 10 STEMFest team who won the OAT National competition! Our team took the judges feedback on board from their runner up performance at the northern regional level and changed silver into gold! Lucy, Josh, Jack and Alex presented their project “Could the genetic modification and consumption of insects be the answer to food shortages?” live to a team of judges this week.
The judges were very impressed with their ideas and attention to detail during the presentation. Students published their data on trials conducted in school, including feeding insect-based food products to willing staff and student volunteers!
Mr Fitzgibbon was pleased to present the students’ certificates stating: “I am immensely proud of our students for the result and embodying our academies values. With their effort and resilience, they have shown exactly what it means to be an OHA-er.”
