On Monday 15th July, our Y9 iWill Project steering group went with Miss Foster, teacher of Art, and Miss Gardner, Director of Literacy, to Packmoor Ormiston Academy. The students worked alongside a group of Y4s in order to read their eco-narrative anthologies, which we recently had published professionally, to some KS1 students to spread a positive message about the importance of being eco-friendly and looking after the environment. The students read the stories to the Y1s who then transformed the narratives into short plays which they performed in front of the rest of the class. The students thoroughly enjoyed reading and listening to the stories and they particularly loved engaging in the drama activity. It was wonderful to see our Y9s leading the sessions in such a mature way; they were fantastic role models for the younger students and great ambassadors for our Academy. Well done to all those involved!
