New fire cadets

Eleven Academy students will soon become North Staffordshire Fire Cadets as part of a new pilot scheme. Following interviews last Friday, the successful candidates will get the chance to learn basic firefighting and practical skills at either Sandyford or Hanley community fire stations. MFL vocab winners

The MFL department has recently run a vocabulary learning competition for Year 7 classes. The competition, using the language software Vocab Express, began on 9th May and was finally completed on Thursday 9th June. Bringing home bronze

Representing the Academy at the Premier League 4 Sports badminton competition in Birmingham on Saturday 8th June, Darren Beeston 10CFJa and Holly Seddon 10TJHd did exceptionally well to help the team achieve overall bronze position. Congratulations!

Super 8

Congratulations to all of the Year 8 students who competed in the city’s Super 8 competition on Wednesday 5th June. They all performed well, particularly Ryan Pankhurst 8AAMd who completed a fantastic 400m in the relay to secure 2nd position for the team.
